- Chapter Communications: Primary communication will be through email similar to your future employer. Please read our emails!
- BAP Google Folder: Any information you need for BAP will be found in the ‘BAP Member Information’ google folder. Check here for Tutoring Sign-Ups, VITA Sign-ups, Non-BAP Professional/Service Hour Form, and all other chapter documents.
- Event Sign In: Members should sign-in prior to each chapter event with our chapter secretary. This will be how the chapter counts your professional and service hour completion.
- Unexcused absence: Member does not attend BAP chapter event and does not have a valid excuse for missing the event. Members are allowed 2 unexcused absences per semester.
- Excused absence: Member sends email to bap@truman.edu 24 hours prior to the chapter event stating what event they will be missing and the reason why. Reasons could include:
- Member illness / doctors appointment
- Death in family
- Truman Athletic Event
- Interview with Employer
- BAP Service Hour: Hour completed on behalf of the community at a Service Event organized by BAP. Could include:
- VITA training, VITA filing, or other service events organized by BAP
- BAP Professional Hour: Hour completed at an organized BAP event to assist a member’s professional development. Could include:
- Chapter meetings, Meet the Firms, or other professional events organized by BAP
- Non-BAP hour: A professional or service hour that our chapter does not sponsor. These could include:
- Professional: Resume critique by career center, attending Executive in Residence lecture, or office hours with Accounting Advisory board members
- Service: Volunteering at any non profit entity in the Kirksville community without pay
- Chapter Meeting Dress Code: Smart Casual
- Men – khakis or dark jeans with colored shirt. No tennis shoes.
- Women – colored pants or dark jeans with a dress top.
